Man u interested in signing ogbona

Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing their centre-back Angelo Ogbonna. Ogbonna, 24, enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, helping his side winpromotion back into Serie A, while also earning a place in Italy's Euro 2012 squad. Sir Alex Ferguson may see Ogbonna as an important signing for United considering their defensive injury problems with Michael Carrick having to fillin at the back at times. Petrachi revealed that Old Trafford scouts have visited Turin in the past to watch the player but is adamant the player, who has also been linked with moves to Juventus and AC Milan, is going nowhere unless the club receive an offer of at least £16 million. "I guarantee there are observers of many foreign clubs who follow our games, including United's scouts," Petrachi is quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb. "Most of the time they comejust to see Ogbonna because he is a player who has great potential. Last year we refused £10 millionfor him but it is clear he is worth more than £16 million. Angelo has the desire to do better but I believe he should continue to grow with Torino."Subscribe via email and enter your email. Wayne rooney could ready to face liverpool

Wayne Rooney could make his Manchester United comeback against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. Rooney has been sidelined since suffering a serious gash to his right leg in the 3-2 win over Fulham on August 25. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said the striker was not close to featuring in Wednesday's Champions League win over Galatasaray and denied thathe would definitely be fit to take on Liverpool. However, Rooney has been back in training at Carrington since last week, looking sharper and lighter than earlier in the season, and is expected to be available. Ferguson said three weeks ago that he hoped the injury would prove a blessing in disguise, adding that he expected Rooney would return fitter. Rooney's only start of the campaign came on his native Merseyside, when United lost their opening game 1-0 to Everton. He was left on the bench at Anfield last year, making a substitute appearance in a 1-1 draw. Subscribe via email and enter your email.
