MLM (network marketing) is a great industry. By being a part of this industry, one gets to learn sales skills, communication skills and leadership skills. But with all being said: This industry attracts the crappiest kind of people. Why? Because of several reasons: 1. Low cost of entry Getting started in mlm doesn't have a huge start up cost. The starting point for different companies range from $50-1000. The low cost of entry is one of the biggest advantages as well as disadvantages in mlm. Low cost makes mlm within the reach of many people. At the same time, it allows many junkies with get rich quick mentality hop in and turn into a stupid game. Wait, its NOT just the low cost entry. 2. MLM is wrongly marketed MLM is NOT for those who want quick money. MLM is NOT for those who are outof job and want to replace their family income fast. MLM is a business and like any business there are skills to be learnt, things need to implemented before one starts earning big money. However most of the masses in the mlm promote it as if it's a quick fix solution for money problems. They promote it as if it's a magic bullet that can solve any and every problem. Naturally this attracts a set of audience who come in with a wrong expectation and they TOO start promoting their business thesame way and the cycle continues. End result: People come in thinking that mlm is a quick fix solution to their problems get quickly disillusioned by it and then quit. 3. Crappy leaders who hop companies Yes, this is a huge issue. There are many mlm pimps (so called leaders) who constantly keep changing their company taking their team with them. Every time they join a new company along with their team mates, they create a huge momentum in that company. The fake momentum created attracts many people who have a"get rich quick" mentality. Honestly speaking, these people cannot (and will NOT) take any efforts to build a solid business. End result - The fake momentum eventually dies off. When it does, this so called leader (And his groupies) joins another company and the same process continues again. At the end of the day, real successin mlm is all about attracting quality people. Its about building a solid team. Not a team filled with "get rich quick" junkies. Recruiting "get rich quick" junkiesis asking for trouble because these people will never take any action. They will be the first ones to join your team and they will be the first ones to quit your team. And most importantly, they will be the first ones to BLAME you for their failure. Stay away from them.
